Now! "Award Winning Helms-a-Lee"

My seminal work, the television spot "Die Again" for the latest installment of hallowed franchise Final Destination, has been recognized by the preeminent arbiters of import as The Best Voice Over in a TV Spot.  Forget that no one is sure if this is an award for the copy writing, the voice actor, the editor, or the creative director.  The world will truly never be the same now that this :30 spot is in our ethos.

Also, pictured: creative director and editor on the piece

YES.

Crafting a trailer is always a creative endeavor, and at its best, it's an art.  This shit is so good.

John Carter the doomed

A good investigation into why Disney's John Carter is on route to becoming the biggest box office flop of all time.

:: Too much creative control given to helmer Andrew Stanton.
:: His blinding loyalty to the original novels
:: His overestimation of the character's clout
:: No mention of his pedigree in trailers (Wall-E, Finding Nemo)
:: Only hitting one of the hallowed four quadrants at a time in the trailers
:: How after Star Wars etc borrowed everything from Edgar Rice Burroughs' worlds,  John Carter looks derivative, even though it was the first

a (conservatively) $250,000,000 oops

The Muppets

This whole campaign has been fun.  Neither mind blowing nor perfect, it's at least been bold and unconventional. Here's their latest.
