Summer '11 Soundtrack: Tribe Called Quest

Just decided that Midnight Marauders is going to be part of my Summer '11 soundtrack. Classic track, great video:

SS10 Soundtrack: The Official List

I posted in March and again in May about Spring/Summer soundtracks. Now that I'm about ready to pull my winter comforter out, it seems like a good time to post what my SS10 Soundtrack ended up being.

Mainstays:

+ LCD Soundsystem This is Happening

+ Beach House Teen Dream

+ Arcade Fire The Suburbs

+ Delorean Subiza

Also a big part of the soundscape:

+ Broken Social Scene Forgiveness Rock, Caribou Swim, Washed Out Life of Leisure, Wild Nothing Gemini.

But, at the end of the day, how much less fun would Summer 2010 have been without Boom Boom Pow and:

Happy Friday

Incomplete update to my SS10 soundtrack vetting process: Beach House's Teen Dream is officially in. I still can't get enough of it.

SS10 Soundtrack

I'm on the hunt for the soundtrack to my Spring and Summer 2010. The charm of this, my favorite part of the year, is always just that much better with a pitch perfect one or two albums to pair it with. And the memories always resonate just that much more clearly when you have a soundtrack that accompanies them.

Some of my more memorable SS Soundtracks:

2001: Zero 7's Simple Things

2003: The Sea & Cake's One Bedroom

2004: John Legend's Get Lifted, Wilco's A Ghost is Born

2005: The Magnetic Fields' 69 Love Songs and Broken Social Scene's You Forgot it in People (I was late to both parties)

2006: Ratatat's Classics and Belle & Sebastian's The Life Pursuit

2008: The Dodo's Visiter and She & Him's Volume 1

2009: Animal Collective's Merriweather Post Pavillion and The Xx's 2.0 and some Best Coast

I know I'll be updating that list soon.
