Kiss Cam

I've managed to get myself on Staple Center's and Dodger Stadium's jumbotrons a few times as a rabid, often dancing fan.  But the Kiss Cam is my Holy Grail.

One day.  One. Day.

hey kobe,

why are all the pundits afraid to admit that a huge part of Linsanity is his asian american heritage?  come on guys,  it's all good!

Reach

Reaching is when a sailboat is traveling approximately perpendicular to the wind. For most sailboats, reaching is the fastest point of sail.

doin work

It's March, about the time Kobe and the Lakers start doin work.

Giant Steps

These athletes really are artists. DeMar DeRozan could be (a 6'7, black) Mikhail Baryshnikov gliding through the air, and Javale McGee has this graceful coordination and power like Savion Glover's.

Stevie Wonder sat court side for the All Star game (you might ask why and I'll answer). He says he likes to have his feet on the court so he can feel the rhythm of the ball bouncing, the players running and stopping. The notion can sound trite, Tap even, but it's true. There's a rise and fall to every move, possession, game, and season.

Take a look at these guys.

The UTEP Two-Step

Tim Hardaway unleashing the UTEP Two-Step in the 1993 All Star Game. This is just nasty. I remember this game, but not this move.

When you watch this clip, you have to remember this is almost 20 years ago, when the game was much more straight up and down. It was before And One mixed tapes, before street ball really started influencing the game. And yes, there are more explosive eye-popping moves going on in the game right now, but there was always something subtle and poetic about Hardaway's moves.

also, nice beat.
